Children's immunisation clinics

 

McCrae Village Clinic provides a free immunisation service for children to help protect them against childhood diseases such as measles, whooping cough, polio and tetanus etc. 

Clinic eligibility

 

Our  childhood immunisation clinics can vaccinate children from six weeks until ten years of age.

 

 

Adult immunisation clinics

 

It is recommended that people aged 65 years and over be vaccinated against pneumococcal and influenza diseases. 

All patients  65 years and over can use our free immunisation service for these vaccines.

Free influenza and pneumococcal vaccines are also available to the following groups:

 

Influenza vaccine

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults aged 15 to 49 years
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 6 months to 5 years
  • people who are medically at risk.

People aged from 6 months who are ineligible for a free influenza vaccine can purchase the vaccine from our immunisation clinic for $13.

 

Pneumococcal vaccine

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults aged 50 years and older
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults aged 15 to 49 years with risk factors

The influenza vaccine is available from from mid April each year. The pneumococcal vaccine is available all year round.

 

Whooping Cough vaccine

 

Women in their third trimester of pregnancy and  their partners can receive a free adult whooping cough vaccine through our immunisation clinics.

 

Shingles vaccine

The shingles vaccine (Zostavax) is a free vaccine that has been added to the National Immunisation Program.

Zostavax is available from 1 November 2016 to people aged 70 years (a free single catch-up dose is available for adults aged 71-79 years until 31 October 2021).

 

Zostavax is available through our immunisation clinics.
