Fees & Billing

 

McCrae Village Clinic is a Private  Billing Clinic

Fee Update – Effective 1st July 2026

Please note that our consultation fees changed from 1st July.

As a private billing practice, consultation fees apply to all appointments and payment is required on the day of your visit.

Please ensure you are aware of our current fees before your appointment. Our updated fee schedule is available at reception.

Payment Methods

We accept cash, EFTPOS, Visa and MasterCard. AMEX and personal cheques are not accepted.

Medicare

Our practice is registered for Medicare Online Claiming. Eligible Medicare claims are lodged electronically at the time of payment, and rebates are paid directly into your nominated bank account.

Bulk Billing

McCrae Village Clinic is not a bulk billing practice.

Bulk billing is available only for the following eligible services and patients:

  • DVA Gold Card holders who are existing patients on a current Chronic Disease Management Plan or CVC DVA Care Plan will continue to be bulk billed for eligible services.
  • On weekdays before 3:30 pm, at the doctor's discretion, standard consultations only may be bulk billed for regular patients who
    • are registered with MyMedicare with the practice
    • are under 15 years of age or over 65 years of age;
    • hold a valid Pensioner or Concession Card;
    • require frequent visits due to a chronic condition; and
    • are on a current GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP).

If you have previously been bulk billed, please note that this may no longer apply. Unless you meet the above eligibility criteria, private consultation fees will be charged.

 

Private Fees Apply

Private fees apply to all other consultations and services, including:

  • Skin checks
  • Wound management
  • Procedures
  • Dressings
  • Injections
  • Biopsies
  • Ear syringing
  • ECGs

Saturday Appointments

 

All Saturday appointments are privately billed.

 

Non-Medicare Rebatable Services

The following services are not eligible for a Medicare rebate and payment is required in full at the time of consultation:

  • VicRoads medicals
  • Insurance medicals
  • Aviation medicals
  • Pre-employment medicals
  • Taxi and commercial driver medicals
  • Medical reports
  • Private vaccinations

We are currently not accepting new WorkCover or TAC consultations.

Non-Medicare rebatable consultations, including WorkCover, TAC, insurance, pre-employment and aviation medicals, have a separate fee schedule. Please contact reception for details.

 

Forms and Medical Reports

A consultation is required for the completion of all forms and reports, including:

  • Centrelink forms
  • Disability Parking Permit applications
  • Travel subsidy forms
  • Taxi subsidy forms
  • Private insurance forms
  • Medical reports

These services attract a private fee and are not eligible for a Medicare rebate.

Vaccinations

Department of Health funded vaccinations are bulk billed for eligible patients with a valid Medicare card.

Independent Practitioner Notice

Dr Ambika Katoch is an independent GP consulting from McCrae Village Clinic. Her consultation fees and billing arrangements may differ from those of the other doctors practising at the clinic.

Standard Consultation

10 minutes

Suitable for a single medical issue.

Long Consultation

20 minutes or longer

Suitable for:

  • More than one medical issue
  • Cervical screening
  • Mental health consultations
  • New patients
  • Travel consultations

Prolonged Consultation

40 minutes or longer

Recommended for:

  • Multiple or complex medical problems
  • Women's health checks
  • Postnatal checks
  • Baby checks
  • Care plans
  • Mental Health Care Plans
  • Skin cancer checks
  • Procedures
  • Medical reports
  • Insurance and pre-employment medicals

Health Assessments and GP Chronic Condition Management Plans (GPCCMPs)

These appointments require longer consultation times and can be booked by contacting reception.

Aviation Medicals

Aviation medicals have a separate appointment structure and fee schedule. Please contact reception for further information.
