Bulk-billed health assessments

Health assessments support the early identification of health risks and the planning of ongoing care. They involve a structured review of a patient’s physical health, mental wellbeing and social factors, and provide an opportunity to discuss overall health, lifestyle and support needs.

These assessments are provided in line with Medicare and RACGP guidelines and eligibility criteria.

45–49 year health check

This health assessment is for patients aged 45–49 years who may be at risk of developing chronic disease due to factors such as lifestyle risks, family history, or biomedical risk factors.

It focuses on early detection and prevention through assessment, education and care planning.
This service is bulk billed to Medicare for eligible patients.

75 years and over health assessment

This annual health assessment is available for patients aged 75 years and over.
It provides a comprehensive review of physical health, functional ability, lifestyle, medications and support needs.

This service is bulk billed to Medicare for eligible patients.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health assessment

This health assessment is available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of all ages.
It supports early detection, prevention and management of health conditions, and provides culturally appropriate, holistic care tailored to individual and community needs.

This service is bulk billed to Medicare for eligible patients.

Eligibility and availability are based on Medicare requirements and clinical assessment.
