Practice Policies

Drug Prescription Policy

McCrae Village Clinic’s policies and processes reflect our commitment to reducing the risks associated with prescribing drugs of dependence and supporting the best possible health outcomes for our patients.

McCrae Village Clinic does not store, prescribe, manage, or administer drugs of dependence at the practice.

Email Policy

Please do not send any patient-related information or medical requests via email or through the website.

The practice does not accept responsibility for any information sent by email that contains identifiable medical or personal health details.

Due to the practice’s privacy and confidentiality obligations, we are unable to reply to or respond to any emails containing clinical information or medical requests.

DNA (Did Not Attend) Policy

A DNA (Did Not Attend) occurs when an appointment is not attended and the patient has not contacted the practice in advance to cancel, or when the cancellation is so late that it is not possible to allocate the appointment to another patient in need of care.

Where three or more DNAs have occurred, the patient will be informed that they are no longer able to pre-book appointments at the practice. A note will be placed in the patient record to alert reception staff that pre-booked appointments are not permitted.

Patients will be offered walk-in appointments only, where they may attend the practice and wait for the next available appointment opportunity.

If the patient continues to disregard practice policies and procedures and further DNAs occur, the patient may be formally removed from the practice patient list.
