Measles, mumps and rubella are highly contagious viral infections that can cause serious and sometimes life-threatening complications. Vaccination provides effective protection against all three diseases.
Under the National Immunisation Program (NIP), MMR vaccination is recommended for children from 12 months of age as part of the routine childhood immunisation schedule.
MMR vaccination is also recommended for adults born during or after 1966 who do not have documented evidence of two doses of MMR vaccine or immunity.
Funded vaccination is available for eligible individuals in accordance with current NIP eligibility criteria.
